Snake Tale

Daughter: I like snakes. I want to have one Mum: Snakes are dangerous, they can bite you and you can die if they are poisonous Daughter: Oh! OK. How about mummy snakes? Mum: They can also bite.. Daughter: How about Daddy snake? Mum: They also bite ... Daughter: How about granny snake? Mum: They also bite ... She sits down for a second and then asks again; Daughter: Does the granny snake have a cane? Mum: I don't think so. This is a true conversation between Dalitso and her mother after coming from plant sale show where she saw some snakes. Why granny snake have a cane question? I asked her, and she answered "so I can kill it if the snake try yo bite me". I sat down for a second and I laughed. Conversation with my daughter.

Worrying

There are many things that worry everyone as human beings. For me, I have always thought that worrying is not going to solve anything and leads to so many ills of the body and mind. Though the we made the promise, questions lingered in my head on how we are going to do th...

Baby Bottles For Life

Image via Wikipedia For the past five weeks, our Church ( Lakeside Presbyterian Church ) partnered with an organisation called Real Choices Pregnancy Medical Clinic with the purpose to raise funds to support mothers facing unplanned pregnancy. The idea was that take a baby bottle and fill  it with spare change, cash or checks made payable to the organisation. When the bottle is filled up, we took the bottle back to the Church  and take another one home (if you are able to)  and repeat the process. They came and picked then up after the drops were made every Sunday. We had a lot of bottles and were all filled up. The women being helped are the ones that are facing the decision of abortion for not having the resources to take care of the baby before and after they are born. Most of them don't want to get abortion but the circumstances makes them to chose abortion. Baby bottles for Life is a perfect fund raising solution and can be done in places like restaurants, stores...
